Adult Folk/Old-Time Jam 101

8-week group class series @ Asheville Music School

NOTE: we have room for one more violin and one more guitar. No more banjo spots available.

Learn the basics of Folk/Old-Time Jam in the style you might see at Jack of the Wood, Warren Wilson, or the Swannanoa Gathering. All you need is some experience and your instrument!

Class will emphasize:

• building repertoire of traditional songs and tunes
• learning the roll of folk instruments in context of the ensemble
• folk style "jam" techniques and basic improvisation to blend well with the group based on individual skill level

Novice to intermediate players welcome. This class is not suitable for total beginners.
