AMS ensembles begin with a placement request. Tell us about the student, choose a specific offering if you already know the right fit, or send a general inquiry and we will help route you.

Ensembles are offered in seasonal and academic-year terms. Current and upcoming offerings are listed below.

    Director review

    The ensemble director reviews the student details and may follow up about level, instrument needs, rehearsal timing, or placement.

    Approval or next step

    The director approves, declines, waitlists, or recommends a better fit.

  4. 4

    Enroll and rehearse

    Approved students receive enrollment and payment details for the selected academic term.

The Rock Band ensemble (Minør) is an advanced group for middle/high schoolers. Started in 2014 and mentored by local musician/educator Alec Fehl, the band has performed at notable venues and shows including Downtown After 5, The Orange Peel, Isis Restaurant and Music Hall, The Salvage Station, LEAF and LEAF Downtown, and Barnaroo. Minør performs all genres/decades of rock and takes pride in a diverse repertoire. Nothing is off-limits, but everything is performed with a rock edge. The band has performed songs by Amy Winehouse, Rage Against the Machine, Stevie Wonder, Ghost, KC and the Sunshine Band, Iron Maiden, Anderson Paak, Henry Mancini, Ray Charles, King’s X, The Ramones, Rush, and everything in between.
