AMS Ensemble Agreement

Thank you for your participation in and commitment to Asheville Music School’s Sound Education outreach program. To help us achieve our goal to bring quality performances to our underserved community, consistent attendance and focused participation in rehearsals is crucial. We request that students stay committed to their band for the minimum duration of one school year (September - May), and that they participate in at least one outreach performance per semester.

Rehearsals

• Tier One bands: One-hour weekly rehearsals, 12-14 hours per semester, for a total of 26 hours total per academic year.
• Tier Two bands: 90-minute weekly rehearsals, 18-21 hours per semester, for a total of 39 hours total per academic year.
• Tier Three bands: Two-hour rehearsals every week, year-round.

Band directors and the AMS executive director will determine the regular rehearsal time for each individual ensemble. Students are expected to arrive 5-10 minutes early to set up, warm up, and tune. Rehearsals typically don’t happen over holiday weekends.

Attendance Policy

Students are allowed one excused absence per semester. Please communicate any conflict or illness immediately to your instructor. Band directors will handle attendance and tardiness situations on an individual basis, and the Executive Director will mediate as needed.

Tuition

• Tier One bands - total cost per semester is $300, due at the start of each semester: mid-September and mid-January. (Yearly total = $600)
• Tier Two bands - total cost per semester is $450, due at the start of each semester: mid-September and mid-January. (Yearly total = $900)
• Tier Three bands - total cost per quarter $380, due every 3 months: January, April, July, and October. (Yearly total = $1,520)

Payment

Payment link will be sent via email. Payment by check or cash can be arranged upon request. Monthly payment options are available as well by contacting AMS Studio Manager Matthew Larkin at info@ashevillemusicschool.org. If financial support is needed, please contact AMS Scholarship Manager at scholarships@ashevillemusicschool.org. Late payments may be susceptible to a $25 late fee.

Permission to Use Photograph/Video/Audio: With this consent, I grant to Asheville Music School, its representative and employees, the right to take photographs, videos and /or audio recordings of me, my son/daughter and property, and I authorize AMS, its assigns and transferees to copyright, use and publish the same in print and/or electronically. I agree that AMS may use such recordings with or without my name and for any lawful purpose, including publicity, illustration, advertising, social media, and web content.
