← of Teachers
Frank has a BA in Music From Hartt College of Music (The University of Hartford) majoring in education and piano. He brings a wealth of life experiences to the studio. While a working musician in rural Alaska, he was a teacher, principal, at times a bakery manager, hydroponic greenhouse and garden supervisor, for about 22 years before coming to Asheville in 2000. Now he develops curriculum for elementary music and teaches music and choir at Veritas Christian Academy, accompanies the choir at Christ School, and is organist/accompanist at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brevard. His CD production of traditional Christmas music is the most recent of many recordings.
Lessons with Frank
Frank welcomes students of every age and skill level. He enjoys teaching a variety of styles and lessons are shaped to the interests and learning styles of his students. All students are grounded in a practical knowledge of theory, harmony and sight reading. Lastly, Frank sends his students home with specific practice techniques that, if followed, will insure success. He knows the value of playing by ear and encourages his students to “launch out” into the unknown.
He says, “My goal is that my students enjoy playing piano for a lifetime. I want them to have the skills that will serve them long after they stop lessons.”
Some of his students have gone on to be church musicians or study as music majors in college. He has taught at Asheville Music School since 2000.
“Thank you for all your support and spontaneity in teaching! It is so special, you make it possible to explore music my personal way. Never expected so much fulfillment!”
