New Orleans Brass Band Workshop

It's a party in the streets! Follow that beat and move your feet to the Brass Band sounds of New Orleans. Bring out your horns, drums, shakers and noise makers to play in this workshop for all ages and skill levels! We'll be learning traditional parade and second-line tunes from the Crescent City, emphasizing fun and building community together. Students will learn simple melodies, bass lines, and collective improvisation, and have a chance to share their voice of this musical language in a live setting.

Instruments this class is geared towards include trumpet, trombone, saxophones, clarinet, tuba, bass, drum set, and percussion. Some experience on the instrument is required as far as the students' understanding of notes/fingerings on their instrument.
